Your mission…


Responsible for developing and implementing the strategic sales plan for the Australian and New Zealand market, drive revenue, profitability and business growth; dedicated to the continued growth and development of current and new outbound markets with the aim of making G the most recognisable brand in the small group tour adventure space.

This role focuses on maximising sales potential across Australia and New Zealand through developing new trade partnerships in addition to building upon existing relationships, implementing new sales initiatives, sourcing and developing new B2B sales opportunities.

What will you be doing in the role?


  • Lead, engage, mentor and direct a highly motivated team of sales individuals in Australia and New Zealand
  • Create and execute strategic sales plans to achieve growth against set budgets as defined by the Managing Director Australia and New Zealand
  • In conjunction with National Sales Manager (NSM) recruit, train, develop and coach the sales team to be best in class across the travel industry
  • Manage the sales team and the National Sales Manager setting and ensuring all KRA’s and set KPI’s are achieved
  • Facilitation, participation and promotion at travel shows, expos, conferences and seminars to promote brand, product awareness and sales
  • Oversee implementation of call cycles, ensuring effective agency penetration
  • Annual sales/business plans containing objectives and targets set with all agency partners prior to the start of the fiscal year
  • Monthly reports and quarterly business meetings with all agency partners to re-visit business plans and ensure targets are met
  • Accountability of the revenue budget and expenditure as well as yearly budget planning


What skills and experience will you need?


  • 3+ years of senior management experience leading a team of diverse professionals
  • 5+ years of Travel Industry experience working specifically with consortium and travel agencies
  • Demonstrated experience in managing key business relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in building, presenting and negotiating business/marketing proposals in-depth knowledge of generating new business and maintaining existing clientele for the leisure and wholesale sectors
  • Demonstrated experience in driving business improvement initiatives
  • Must have strong sales presentation techniques, business planning and financial management
  • Knowledge of the adventure travel market is essential, familiarity with G Adventures products and services is desirable
  • Must be able to travel nationally and internationally on a regular basis
  • Innovative thinker with the ability for self-motivation in a free-thinking environment
  • Showcase excellent negotiation skills and be highly confident in closing the deals
