What will you be doing?
Under the Starts at 60 umbrella, Travel at 60 is the emerging travel business built to serve the baby boomer generation. We use our media platform and travel marketplace to serve consumers travel options, offers and solutions they want. Our mandate is to “make it a #1 travel brand” so that’s the person we’re looking for – someone who has the strategic travel knowledge, leadership skills and hunger to build an energetic team to implement and execute the Travel at 60 strategy.
You will thrive on the exciting blend of a senior management and partner facing role, designing a consumer-focussed solutions business.
Key to your success will be your ability to:
- Drive the Travel at 60 strategy for product development, promotional strategy and commercial success.
- Consider ideal partnerships, commercial agreements and internal functions that are needed to deliver a high-quality consumer operation aimed at the digital-savvy baby boomer.
- Work with the CEO and COO to plan and lead the building of the capability function and technology of the business to satisfy this strategy.
- Build and coach the Travel at 60 team, leveraging the skills to best fit the changing market.
- Develop the path to purchase for consumers, working through the user journey from online to offline to understand and build out each step in the business process, in turn defining product development, lead generation and customer conversion process.
- Build the marketing framework for Travel at 60 products and services, leveraging content and media network and user base of Starts at 60 and Travel at 60 as a lifelong customer.
- Constantly evaluate ROI and success of channels, managing spend and arbitrage with our performance team.
- Manage the customer success, working to constantly improve conversion and drive lifetime customer relationships.
- Build a framework for measuring, analysing and reporting on commercial success.
What do you need to be successful?
The ideal person for the role has:
- An understanding of the travel sector and its commercial alignments deeply to build a “new age” diversified travel company.
- An understanding of the mature media market, the customer behaviour and a strong respect for the cohort and the business’ ambitions to grow the market position with integrity.
- A strategic and commercial mindset to grow and innovate a business.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with key stakeholders to build the commercial and technology platforms to drive the strategy.
- Demonstrated experience in growing, leading and coaching high performance teams.
- A desire to be an ambassador for the company’s brand and integrity.
- A great team-player.
